CNA students at Job Corps

Academics

In addition to career training, Talking Leaves Job Corps also provides academic training, including basic reading and math. Courses in independent living, employability skills, and social skills are offered in order to help students transition into the workplace. We also have several academic programs to help our students achieve their full potential.

GED/High School Diploma

One of our top goals at Talking Leaves Job Corps is to ensure that every qualified student obtains his or her GED/high school diploma prior to leaving the center. Students who don't already have a high school diploma upon their arrival at Talking Leaves can enroll in our GED and high school diploma programs.

Our GED program features computer-based GED preparation and book-based training. Students in this program receive one-on-one tutoring, peer tutoring, and self-motivated study. Students must achieve the objectives set by the State of Oklahoma Department of Education to receive their GED certificates.

Our students also have the opportunity to earn their high school diplomas. To get a high school diploma, a student must achieve 13 core academic credits and 10 elective credits and complete a career technical training program at our center.
