The door is open and the opportunities for your future are endless!

Your training begins your first day on center. Placement in the high school or GED program will follow the successful completion of the Career Preparation Period (CPP).  Assessment test scores will assist us in making the best decision for your future.

Readiness for the state GED exam is determined by the above mentioned tests, the classroom instructor, and the amount of necessary class work completed.  You will earn an Oklahoma High School diploma from the State Department of Education when you successfully complete the GED program.

Talking Leaves Job Corps is fully accredited by the Oklahoma State Department of Education to issue high school diplomas.  Once all required and elective classes, vocation, and necessary testing have been successfully completed and verified by designated staff you will be issued your Oklahoma Job Corps Academy (Talking Leaves campus) high school diploma.  You must complete an on-center vocation to receive this diploma.

Advanced Career Training (ACT) is for those students who desire to extend their training.  Students must meet all necessary requirements to enter this program.  Information is available from either the Academic or Vocation Supervisor.

You must have

  • a GED or high school diploma

  • be at least 17 1/2 years of age

  • a score of 19 or above on the ACT (American College Testing) exam

  • be eligible for PELL or tribal grants

  • be accepted to a center approved college or Technology Center

If this is the route you wish to take, you may extend your two year Job Corps stay for another year. This is a great opportunity for all those who qualify.

Many students select the option of military service once they have completed Job Corps. Representatives from various branches of the service are available to speak with you during your training and assist you with plans when you graduate from Talking Leaves.
