Capabilities

Trained Counselors

  •  There are four trained professional Counselors on Center.  Each is able to work with the students on a variety of levels including career guidance and personal issues.

Availability

  •  Each student has an assigned Counselor to work with.  If the assigned Counselor is not available the student is free to speak with another one.  A counselor is on call each week for after hours and weekend availability.

Reference Accounts

Team Approach

  •  Counselors act behalf of their students to help them gain the full benefit of Talking Leaves.  They help guide the student through their vocational and educational training.  They work with the instructors and Residential Advisors who are involved with that student's progress and attainment of goals. The Counselor heads up the team to make sure that all student needs are taken care of.  Through a team approach this is guaranteed.

Career Counseling

  •  Counselors meet on a regular basis with each student for career guidance.  At this time labor market information is discussed.  The skills needed to gain and keep employment are also gone over with the student.

Personal Counseling

  •  Counselors also offers students time to discuss personal issues that may be bothering the student.  The counselors offer support and encouragement as well as practical advice on dealing with these issues.
