Hiring a Talking Leaves graduate:

  • Costs nothing.
  • Does not interfere with your business.
  • Is easy! Job Corps graduates have basic skills and familiarity with their industry.
  • Attracts young people with strong work ethics.

After you submit information via this Web site you will be contacted by a Talking Leaves representative, who will find out more information about your staffing needs. Your information will be referred to a Career Advisor assigned to your area who will determine the best candidate(s) who may be available to meet your needs. The Career Advisor will contact you to discuss candidates and provide you with the resumes of those students whose skills match your needs.

Talking Leaves can also bring students to your work site interviews at no cost. If you decide to hire a graduate, the TLJC Career Transition Service team provides the graduate with support services including assisting with relocation efforts, securing appropriate transportation, and if necessary, childcare. Once you hire a graduate, a team member will continue to be there to answer any questions you might have.

Work-Based Learning provides a "temp-to-perm" or intern arrangement so you can see how the employee works out before you hire him or her.

Take advantage of Talking Leaves' customized training to tailor students' skills to your workforce needs. You may be interested in becoming a member of a Center Industry Council (CIC) which enables you to interact closely with Talking Leaves and you can have a direct impact on the vocational training.

Job Corps is a year-round program with two week breaks in July and December. Students may enroll at any time during the year. Training programs are taught as open-entry, open-exit to accommodate the open enrollment. Therefore, graduates complete training throughout the year based on skill attainment rather than on a typical academic calendar.
